Started by Brian and Johnine Talley in 1999 as a way to offer quality wine at an affordable price point. Bishop’s Peak is an ancient volcano that towers over San Luis Obispo, visible across much of the Southern SLO Coast. It’s free to climb, open to all, and on any given day you’ll find groups celebrating at the summit — a fair amount of them with a bottle of wine.
That’s exactly what we want this wine to feel like — something to share, carry with you, and enjoy. Bishop’s Peak reflects our commitment to thoughtful winemaking and to sharing Central Coast wine that fits seamlessly into everyday moments and larger celebrations alike.
Same wine, same values, same hands
Bishop’s Peak wines are produced using a combination of declassified Talley Vineyards fruit and grapes sourced from trusted local growers along California’s Central Coast. All wines are made at Talley Vineyards, using many of the same techniques applied to our estate-grown wines.
The result is a lineup that delivers consistency, quality, and varietal clarity — making Bishop’s Peak a reliable choice for wine programs, events, and everyday enjoyment.

Elizabeth Talley
Fourth-generation Talley, Cal Poly alum, usually trying to hold a glass of wine and her camera at the same time. The biggest lover of the Central Coast — but always planning her next travels.
Emma Lyon Geers
Cal Poly alum, dropped résumés around Edna Valley at 21 and never left. Lucky for us she landed at Talley 8 years ago! Made Bishop’s Peak wines — and a baby — in the same year.
Mariah McNulty
Grew up falling in love with wine labels in her grandfather’s warehouse, played Division 1 softball at Cal Poly, and now runs Talley’s entire hospitality program — while raising four little ones.
